TGIO
Anyways...Christmas Eve we went to my aunt's house so that the kids could open their gifts. Jordan got 3 or 4 transformers, some new clothes, an ambulance lego set, and a few other gifts that I am sure that I am forgetting about. Ashley got a play piggy bank, some new clothes, a air doll (you can put air in it and make it life-like or leave it so that it is soft and squishy), a few wooden puzzles, and again some things that I am sure that I am missing. Jerry got a gym membership to Planet Fitness, some body wash, some razor refills, and new socks and boxers. I got a beautiful gold chain for everyday wear, some body wash, $30 worth of gift cards to AC Moore, a $10 gift certificate to Annie's Book Stop, and a big tub of puff peppermints. Jerry and I both ended up getting a new DVD player from my parents too.
On the stitching front...I have not gotten much stitched at all. I am hoping to get some stitching in a little later or at least tonight after the kids go to bed.
Can't wait to read about what everyone else got for Christmas.

Doing a Happy Dance Today!
Now as requested by a certain 6 year old boy I will be stitching the Red Sox Logo next. Think I amy stitch it on a piece of 11 count Aida that I have so then it won't be so small. Jordan keeps saying he wants a Patriots logo and a Red Sox logo for his wall. Have the Red Sox logo. Now to just find a Patriots one.

Happy Thanksgiving to All!!
I know that this is early, but in case I am not on tomorrow I wanted to say Happy Thanksgiving to all my fellow US bloggers. I will be spending the day cooking and when I am not cooking I will be stitching. Here is how far along I am on Pansies so far. I am hoping to finish this up this weekend, but only time will tell if that happens.

Football Sunday
While DH has been watching the Patriots game this is what I have been doing. I love how colorful this is. I am thinking that once I am done with this that I will put it in my bedroom.
Got my van back Friday night so now I don't have to worry about walking Jordan to school with Ashley on Monday morning since I think that it is going to be a cold day. It was indeed the starter like we originally thought that it was. Ended up costing us about $125 so I can't complain too much. Now just waiting for January and taxes to roll around so that I can get a brand new car. Kind of getting sick of the whole van thing LOL. I am looking into getting either a Ford Focus or a Toyota Corolla. Not sure which one we are going to go with yet, but we keep looking online to watch for some good holiday deals.
Off to stitch some more while watching the Patriots kick the Packers butts! GO PATRIOTS!!!!!
If anyone knows of where I can find a nice Patriots pattern please email me at meye2cuties at gmail dot com.

You probably are from the Midland (Pennsylvania, southern Ohio, southern Indiana, southern Illinois, and Missouri) but then for all we know you could be from Florida or Charleston or one of those big southern cities like Atlanta or Dallas. **Warning Lots of Babbling Included**
These 2 cute kids are MINE MINE MINE LOL LOL. This is Jordan (5 years old --will be 6 the day after Thanksgiving) and Ashley (19 months). They were posing so cute on this day that I just HAD to take a picture.
Not sure how many of you remember seeing this picture of my first and so far only framed piece of stitching, but I thought I would post it again so you would all know what I was talking about when I say this...I was so kicking myself when I gave my mom the Iris on the Veranda piece that I stitched for her while I was preggers with Ashley and then decided to stitch it for myself only to realize that I had traded the book that this was in with someone about a year or 2 ago. Anyway I went on e-bay and found 1 person that was selling Country Bouquets from American School of Needlework (where the Iris pattern came from--did I mention that this was an OOP book????) so I swooped in and bought it right away and only paid $3.99 for the book!!! I had a piece of evenweave that I immediately brought over to my mom's for her to zig zag the edges for me (I so cannot sew and she has a machine), but I promised myself that I am going to be good and not stitch Iris on the Veranda until after I am done with Carousel Horse. Which leads me to my next topic of discussion. ROTATION STITCHING!!!!
How many of you have a rotation for stitching pieces and do you find it useful? Do you find yourself finishing more pieces when you stitch them on rotation rather than spending months (sometimes years LOL) on the same piece at one time? I want to stitch a few pieces that I have in my stash which I would like to stitch but don't know which one to do first so I thought maybe a rotation of them would be neat. Iris on the Veranda, Home is Where the Cat Is (already started and put it aside but never was able to pick it back up once Jordan decided that he wanted to "sew like Mom" by cutting my fabric into pieces so I want to start on it again and keep it safe this time LOL) and St. Sylvestre are ones that I want to stitch but I have a tinge of ADD so working on a BIG project makes me get bored easily hence again why rotation stitching might be the way to go for me.
Which now that I have babbled it has lead me to another question...how do you store your WIPs while you are stitching on something else. Do you have Q-Snaps for each project or do you have one set that you just move from project to project each day? I am not a new stitcher but have never been brave enough until a few months ago to stitch on anything else other than Aida. Now I am trying to venture out and try new things.
Now on to something different. Went to my LNS that will be closing soon and picked up Seasons of Plenty from Little House Needleworks and Signs of Spring from Erica Michaels. I think I might talk DH into letting me go back and pick up some specialty threads since I have never used anything other than DMC and would like to try something different in that category too.
Off to get ready to watch Grey's Anatomy and ER while diligently working on Pastel the Carousel Horse.

Quiet Stitching Sunday
Since we are suppose to keep Jordan in the house while treating him for chicken pox then I can't go over to my parents house to take a shower and clean up. Guess I will just sit here today and work some more on Pastel (that is the name that Jordan and I came up with for this horse even though there aren't too many pastel colors in this piece). Ran out of DMC 3821 so maybe later I can sneek out alone and go to Shaw's to get some groceries and to Walmart to pick up another skein of 3821. Off to check the faucets again.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN (for real this time!)
Haven't gotten to work on CH today but I am definitely going to try anf get some done on it before I hit the hay tonight. Found out this morning that my LNS is going out of business so now I am really going to have to be nice to DH to get some money so I can shop shop shop LOL LOL. Off to check out a few patterns that I have so that I can stock up on floss and stuff like that!
Monday, October 30, 2006
Anyway today in between doing my household "chores" I worked on my Carousel Horse. I LOVE these horses and the colors that they are stitched up with. Have been trying to post a picture, but blogger is preventing me from doing so.

Happy Halloween
Today turned out to be a really crummy day for trick-or-treating here in Manchester. It was soooo windy I thought that the kids might blow away. Took the kids to the mall instead so that they wouldn't be so cold. Worked on Carousel Horse for a little while today (haven't been able to pick it up for a little while now). Here is where I have gotten so far.
Going to go and stitch for a little while more while watching House and Desperate Housewives then to bed I go. Back to the daily grind tomorrow!

The rules; List seven songs you are into right now. No matter what the genre, whether or not they have words, or even if they're not any good, but they must be songs you're really enjoying now. Post these instructions in your blog along with your seven songs. Then tag seven other people to see what they're listening to.
Had a Bad Day by Daniel Powter
Street Corner Symphony by Rob Thomas
Chain Hang Low by Yung Joc
Moneymaker by Ludacris and Pharell
American Pie by Don McLean
Son of a Preacher Man by Aretha Franklin
Sexy Back by Justin Timberlake
I tag the following
Carol
Sue
Dawn
Joyce
Meari
Barb
Renee
I worked on my Carousel Horse some more last night but didn't make enough progress to warrent a picture. Will tryand post on once I have worked on it today. Have the pumpkin spice candles going already since it is such a dreary day.

Sluggish Monday
I received a handful of patterns from a very good friend and am trying to decide which one of the patterns I want to stitch next. Going to go and drool some more over all these great patterns. Will take a picture later. Oh yeah forget to say too the I got my Iris on the Veranda piece that I had framed for my mom back from the framers today but I was so excited about getting it to her that I forgot to take a picture. Will have to take one the next time that I go over there.

Is it just me or...
Put Momma McBruin aside until Monday as I got a great outline of Elvis' face which is a very quick stitch so I am going to stitch it for my MILs boyfriend and then be able to give it to him on Sunday when they come over to watch the Patriots game and have dinner with us.
Off to work on Elvis some more while Ashley is napping.

Taking a break
Since the pics of my monkies didn't post last time I figured I would add them this time. Jordan is 5 and Ashley is 18 months (ignore the date printed on Ashley's picture LOL).
Whipped stitched the edges of my evenweave, got the flosses all pulled that I will need and am ready to start my Boyd's Bears project. I will be stitching Momma McBruin and Luke...Baby Love. Once I get further along then I will post a picture. Off to get lunches made for Jerry and Jordan for tomorrow.

Next time I decide to stitch an ornament on 28 count (or any other count) over 1 would someone PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE stop me. This ornament is giving me more of a headache than I think I have ever had. LOL. I am determined though to get it done so that I can start on my next project. I try to only work on one project because as some may have seen through this blog, I go one to another one and never go back to the previous one.
Ashley had been sick with just a fever and a really stuffy nose. She is only one so unlike you and I she can't blow her nose. Since it has been 4 days of her having a fever I am thinking that tomorrow I will call her pediatrician and make and make an appointment. If I can get her into bed at a decent time tonight (she has been going to bed late each night as she sleeps most of the day and then doesn't want to sleep at bedtime each night) then I will sit on the sofa, watch Desperate Housewives and stitch on my ornament.
Off to snuggle with my little princess and try and get her to bed soon.

Updated Ornament
Here is an update on my 2006 ornament. I went to Michaels' yesterday and used my 50% off coupon to get a pair of clip on magnifiers so that I don't have to hold a magnifying glass. I used them last night and had a much better experience stitching on 28 over 1. Now to just get this finished LOL LOL.
Update 5:30 I just noticed when I went to look over my blog that the 0 on the right is up too high :(. I guess I will be frogging that out later.

WIP Picture
Here is what my ornament looks like so far. I had to frog out the bottom loop of the 2 on the right since I was off by one row. I didn't notice it until I did the bottom loop on the left side 2. :( This ornament is stitching up slow but that I OK. I will work on it some more after everyone is in bed tonight. Off to get Jordan fro school.

What have I gotten myself into???
Here is Patches all finished!!! I finshed him yesterday afternoon. Decided not to do the platform that he is on. I think he looks better without it. Since I am in the Christmas spirit (I know I should be slapped upside the head) I decided to start on M Designs 2006 tree as an ornament. I have started to stitch it on 28 count evenweave in DMC 909. OMG the stitches are sooo small. My poor eyes!!! Can you tell I have never done this before ??? LOL

Headless Nutcracker
Got up early this morning and got a big pot of chili ready in the crockpot so it is really smelling good in here. Can't wait for dinner!!! Today Jordan didn't have any school so I got a break from having to run around and get him ready this morning but tomorrow is back to the daily grind. I got LOTS done around the house yesterday while he was gone and the time didn't fly by as fast as I thought that it would.

Busy Week
Well since I spent ALL day on Wednesday cleaning the house since Jerry's aunt was coming up for the might I decided that last night I was going to sit and work on Patches. I have also designated that I will leave him out on the computer desk and then that way I am more likely going to stitch on him WHILE watching TV rather than just sitting and JUST WATCHING the TV. I watch too much of that dang boob tube as it is ROFL.
On a different noteThis morning was kind of a sad one for me as I went and filled out the paperwork to sign my baby boy up for school. He starts on the 11th and will be gone from 8:20 to 2:30. Whatever will I do all day while he is gone?? HAHA I guess I will just have to find something to fulfill my free time while Ashley is napping since now I will be alone with no one to bother me. Off to stitch some more on Patches.

Making Slow Progress
Tomorrow DH's aunt is suppose tpo be coming in from FL so I will take Patches with me to the airport to wait for her. I am thinking of doing a sampler soon and I am trying to figure out which one to do first. Please post your suggestions here. Thanks bunches!

October is fast approaching so...
There are a few others that I want to get stitched eventually too (leprechaun, bunny, santa, pilgrim, and valentine nutcrackers). They are all so cute! Looks like today we are getting the rain from Ernesto. Have the candles lit and once DH gets up I will fold the laundry I washed and then the day is mine to stitch!!! Such a great day for it too. Curl up on my sofa and work on Patches (that is what I have named this nutcracker). Off to get a few things cleaned up so I can get some me time later.

Jumping for Joy!!!!
Hot Off The Q-Snaps (well not off the q-snaps quite yet HAHA). I just finished this this minute and couldn't wait to post a picture of my finish. I am not quite sure if I like the left side of the Y (where it goes from real dark to real light). Might frog that and make it blend better but I will ponder it for a little while and see what I think after. Now to figure out what to stitch next. Since I like stitching on the evenweave so much I decided to go to AC Moore and but some more but they only had 1 tube left so I may have to take a trip to Micheal's or Colonial Needleworks (I am an determined to get back there soon). Will post soon to let you all know what I decide to stitch.
UPDATED 10:43 PM Since I finished Joy tree and I can't get my mini sewing machine to work to zig zag the edge of my new evenweave piece I am working on another small towel with hearts on it. Not sure what I want to put above and below these hearts but I guess I will think about that as I finish up with this row of hearts. Will take the evenweave to my mom's and see if she can use her zig zag setting on her machine so I can get started on a new evenweave piece. Am thinking that I may start on a few pieces (2 or 3 at a time) and work on a rotation so then I don't get bored working on just one thing. I do have some Aida that will eventually have to be stitched on anyway too LOL.

Progressing
I am a little further along than what this picture shows but my camrea batteries are charging so I figured I would at least post this one. Now I am trying to decide which of my to do patterns I want to do on evenweave next.

Baby Steps
OK well since I was up at 3 am and there was nothing on the tube I decided to work on my small hearts towel...AND GOT IT DONE!!! (If blogger let me you should be able to see a picture of it here). OK now with the being said I have decided to stitch one of M Designs trees (not sure which one yet) on 28 count Monaco. Since I am used to stitching on Aida only then this will be a different experience for me. I am thinking that I will stitch it with one of DMC's variegated flosses. After I get this one done I may splurge and buy some WDW floss and do a different tree with that. Baby steps here. HAHA Off to bake a cake since today is DH's birthday!

Long Day today
Ashley was up most of the night crying with a temperature of 102.7. I finally got her back into bed around 4 only to have Jordan wake both of us up at 6 because he wanted to watch cartoon and felt that we should watch them too.
Off to get Ashley ready to go to the doctor's to make sure that she doesn't have an ear infection.

Pictures Finally
Finally here are pictures of my finished Java towel and the progress that I have made so far on Flip Flops Rock. I have been looking at some of the other stitching blogs and I have decided that sometime in the future I may stitch a sampler. The work that some of you girls have done and the samplers that you have stitched are gorgeous. Off to look at some samplers and get an idea of which one(s) I would like to stitch.

Not much going on here today except that it got in the 80s. Seems really hot to DH. He has been complaining all day. Men can't live with them and can't live without them LOL LOL. Been working on Coffeehouse Favorites Irish Creak coffee pattern on a huck towel. Off to eat some of the new Papa Gino's Rustic Pizza that we ordered. Will let you know how it was later.
